01
Product & the two stages

What is GaGo?

GaGo is stage-based baby skincare, made in Denmark. Instead of one product for the whole first year, GaGo splits the year into two formulas that change as a baby’s skin barrier matures - short ingredient lists, no fragrance, science before marketing.

What makes GaGo different from other baby skincare?

Most ranges sell one formula for the entire first year and beyond. A newborn’s skin and a crawler’s skin are barely the same thing, so GaGo matches the formula to how the barrier actually develops - two stages, minimal ingredients, and every claim tied to measured skin properties.

What are Stage 1 and Stage 2?

Stage 1 (0-6 months) is a short-list daily moisturiser for the immature barrier - ceramides and panthenol to help skin that’s still learning to hold water. Stage 2 (6-12 months) keeps the same repair base but is lighter, with a little more protection for skin that’s now crawling and out in the world.

Which stage does my baby need?

As a rule of thumb, Stage 1 covers roughly 0-6 months and Stage 2 roughly 6-12 months. Every baby is different, so it’s a guide rather than a hard cut-off - if you’re unsure, start gentler with Stage 1 and speak to your health visitor or GP.

When do I switch from Stage 1 to Stage 2?

Around six months is the typical point, when the barrier works meaningfully better and friction from crawling becomes the main pressure on skin. There’s no need to rush - it’s fine to finish a jar of Stage 1 first.

Can I use Stage 2 on a newborn?

We’d recommend Stage 1 for newborns. It’s formulated for the thinner, higher-absorption barrier of the first months, with the shortest ingredient list of the two.

Is it just a moisturiser, or a full routine?

At launch the focus is the two stage moisturisers - the daily step that matters most for a developing barrier. We’d rather do a short range well than a long one loosely. More may follow, guided by the same stage-based thinking.

02
Ingredients & safety

What’s in GaGo?

Short lists, on purpose - roughly nine ingredients, give or take. The core is skin-identical ceramides and panthenol for barrier repair, glycerin to hold water, and a mild preservative system at the lowest effective level. Stage 2 adds a light, skin-friendly occlusive. The full INCI list is published at launch.

What’s not in it?

No fragrance, no essential oils, no dyes, no parabens, no harsh preservatives, no mineral oil, no drying alcohol and no sulfates - across both stages. These are the ingredients most often behind infant skin reactions, so we leave them out rather than sneak them in.

Is it fragrance-free?

Yes - genuinely fragrance-free. No added synthetic perfume and no essential oils used as a “natural” scent. If it smells of anything, it’s the ingredients themselves, not added fragrance.

Is it suitable for eczema or very sensitive skin?

GaGo is designed for sensitive, barrier-compromised skin - short lists, no common sensitisers, ceramide-led repair. For diagnosed eczema or a specific skin condition, always check with your GP or dermatologist before starting anything new.

Is it hypoallergenic?

We formulate to minimise the risk of a reaction by leaving out the usual triggers, and every formula is dermatologically tested on sensitive skin. No product can promise zero reactions for every baby, so we always suggest a small patch test first.

Do you use essential oils?

No. Essential oils are a common cause of infant skin reactions, and they earn their place in a fragrance story, not a barrier one - so they’re on our “never” list.

Is it vegan and cruelty-free?

Yes - GaGo is not tested on animals, and the formulas are designed to be vegan. Certification details are published alongside the launch.

Can I use it on the face?

Yes - GaGo is made for face and body. Avoid the immediate eye area, and if any gets in the eyes, rinse with water.

What if my baby has a reaction?

Stop using it and, if you’re worried, speak to your GP, health visitor or pharmacist. We always recommend a patch test on a small area before regular use, especially for skin prone to reactions.

03
The science

Why does baby skin need different formulas over time?

Because it changes fast. At birth the stratum corneum is around 30% thinner than an adult’s, so more absorbs through, and skin pH falls from roughly 6.5 toward the protective 5.5 acid mantle over the first weeks. The barrier keeps maturing right through the first year - a single year-round formula can’t match all of that.

What does “stage-based” actually mean?

It means the formula follows the skin. Stage 1 is built for the immature, high-absorption barrier of the early months. Stage 2 keeps the same repair base but is lighter, with a little more occlusion for the maturing barrier once crawling and friction begin.

Is GaGo dermatologically tested?

Yes. Both stage formulas go through independent dermatological testing on sensitive skin, and we publish the methodology and results rather than just claiming a result.

Are your claims independently verified?

The skin-development figures we cite come from measured properties of infant skin in the medical literature, not from marketing. Product testing is carried out independently, and our minimum manufacturing standard is the Nordic Swan ecolabel.

Will you publish the ingredient list and test results?

Yes - in full. At launch you’ll be able to read the complete INCI list, what each ingredient does and where it’s from, plus the dermatological test reports and certification.

04
Buying, waitlist & shipping

Can I buy GaGo now?

Not yet - GaGo is in development. The best thing to do is join the waitlist so you’re first to hear when it’s ready.

What does joining the waitlist do?

It puts you first in line for launch and lets us email you when GaGo is available - and only then. We’ll email you once, maybe twice. No spam, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

When does GaGo launch?

We’re deliberately not rushing a formula for baby skin. The waitlist is where launch timing is announced first, so joining is the surest way to know as soon as we do.

How much will it cost?

Final pricing is confirmed closer to launch. Waitlist members hear it first, along with any early-access offer.

Where do you ship?

GaGo is made in Denmark, and shipping regions are confirmed at launch. Tell us where you are when you join the waitlist and it helps us prioritise.

Will there be a subscription?

A jar lasts roughly a stage, so a simple refill or subscription option makes sense - details will be shared at launch. Nothing you’ll be locked into.

How will I know when it’s available?

By email, if you’re on the waitlist. That’s the only list we keep, and launch news goes there first.

05
The company

Where is GaGo made?

Formulated and made in Denmark, start to finish - born in Copenhagen. Every ingredient is traceable back to a named source.

Who’s behind GaGo?

Two parents who couldn’t find a baby skincare range honest about what skin needs and when - so they built one. Founder-led, parent-powered, and tested on their own barsel. Read the full story on Our Story.

Is the packaging recyclable?

Yes - GaGo ships in recyclable packaging, made to a standard we treat as a starting point rather than an achievement.

How can I get in touch?

Real humans, not a bot. Ask us anything about the formulas, the science or the plan - get in touch here and we’ll genuinely reply.
